How We Met

Naturally.....

I couldn't have been more nervous. While walking to our planned "meeting" spot at the Pinnacles in Berea, I can say confidently that I was a bit paranoid about the whole blind dating thing. Images flashed before me of saying something offensive, being slapped, knee'd, or pushed off the mountain. Nervously, I wondered, "What if this is HER! What if I'm about to meet my future wife." Was this going to be another "your a nice guy but not my cup of tea" kind of thing or a new beginning? Fast-forward to that chilling scene where you see your date in the distance, the phone rings, and you're caught between knowing what to do and looking uncomfortable. My thoughts were, "Did I put deodorant on, shave, fix my hair? Maybe, I should flap my arms like a penguin. Penguins are cute right? Should I puff out my chest, smile, play it cool? Do I give her a wink? What's my line, what's my line....she's staring right at me. My goodness, what do I say! Youtube pickup lines.....Youtube pickup lines.....youtube pickup lines...." When it comes to girls, I am my own worst enemy. "Is your name google?" "No, haha.....why?" "Cause your all I'm searching for...." But honestly, this is not how it happened. No, anything would have been better than my knee-jerk type intro. Instead, I did what any anxious unprepared tree loving hippie would do.... I gave her a very tasteful, very deliberate, very confident high-five. Apparently, high fives get you wives....
