5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
This is an informal gathering for anyone who wants to come say hi in a relaxed, mellow setting before the big festivities. At 7 we'll probably head off to dinner, then maybe check out some music. Anyone who wants to come along is more than welcome.
3:00 pm
New Orleans can be quite warm and humid in late September; dress in whatever feels comfortable and celebratory. Silliness, costumery, fancy hats all encouraged.
After the ceremony, there will be cocktail hour, followed by buffet-style dinner. Meat, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available.
7:00 pm
Have comfortable shoes! The streets can been pretty torn up- wear something you can walk and dance it. Now is not the time for strappy heels.
It's Second Line Time! After the ceremony and dinner, we're joining up with a brass band and dancing off into the night in true New Orleans fashion. We're working on a no-walking option (probably bike cabs) for anyone who wants to join in but doesn't feel up to walking. We gotchu, baby!
