We're getting Married!

We met in 2022 in Houston at a friend's wedding. During the wedding festivities, we started talking and getting to know each other, and instantly clicked! After the wedding, Shishir flew back to Atlanta, but we still stayed in touch. After a few months of messaging and talking over the phone, Shishir flew down to Austin for our first official date. After that, we took turns flying back and forth doing long-distance from Houston to Atlanta over the next year and a half.

For the next year and a half we took turns visiting each other in Houston and Atlanta. In between the visits, we texted, called, and facetimed almost every day. We also spent countless weekends watching movies over video call. They say "distance makes the heart grow fonder", and we can defintely say that was true for us! After a year and half, we finally made the decision to be closer to each other in Atlanta, Georgia. So we packed up all of Rhea's things, and road-tripped from Houston to Atlanta.

To celebrate two years together, we decided to take our first international trip to London. During one of our days there, Shishir insisted on a surprise excursion, and said he had something special planned. We traveled to Kensington Palace (the late Princess Diana's home) and went into the gardens. There we conveniently "bumped" into a barbershop quartet who serenaded us with "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney- one of Rhea's favorite songs! After they sang, Shishir went down on one knee and popped the question! Rhea enthusiastically said yes, and the rest is history.
