I spontaneously visited my friend Cyrille in Balele, Tanauan. While I was at her house, she planned to take me to the Baywalk near the Taal Volcano site. However, there were no available vehicles for us to ride. She called a friend and asked if he could give us a ride. He responded and came to pick us up from her house — his name was Erwin. The three of us rode on his motorcycle. When we arrived at the Baywalk, we spent time talking about life and took some pictures. After that, Erwin brought us back to Cyrille’s place, and I decided to head home. Shortly after, I received a message request on my phone — it was from Erwin, asking me to send the pictures we had taken at the Baywalk. I sent them, and that’s where our conversation began. We chatted every morning and night until, eventually, he asked me out on a date. I agreed. In just a month, we went to different places together, sharing stories and talking about life. Then one day, he confessed his feelings — and that’s how it all started. In June 2022, his application as a seafarer was approved, and he went to work overseas. That marked the beginning of our long-distance relationship. It was difficult because there was no Wi-Fi on the ship. The only time he could message me was when they docked, and he could buy a SIM card in that country. We had misunderstandings at times, and it wasn’t easy to resolve problems right away. But thank God, we overcame the challenges of our first long-distance relationship. He eventually came back, and in 2024, he boarded again for another contract. Now, in 2025, before he returned to work, we mutually decided to get married — and thank God, He made it come true. This coming October 2025, we’ll be getting married, and we hope you can be with us as we exchange our vows. My love story isn’t what I imagined or expected, but I believe it was part of God’s amazing plan for both of our lives — so that He can use us for His glory and His kingdom.
