Question

Can I drive back to Eugene after the wedding?

Answer

Yes! However, the sun will set at 6:00 p.m., making this a dark and winding (and possibly wet) trip back into town. Especially for our out-of-town guests who are unfamiliar with this route on Hwy 126, we encourage you to stay within 5 miles of Loloma Lodge. Only sober drivers should make the trip back to Eugene/Springfield.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, this will mostly be an adults-only event with the exception being our flower girls, nursing children, and some out-of-town family and friends.

Question

Where can I eat nearby?

Answer

We're in a remote tourist area! If you are staying up river, we suggest visiting a grocery or convenience store for snacks, breakfast items, and beverages before you head to your accommodations. The nearest full grocery store is Albertsons in Springfield (48 miles from Loloma). Blue Sky Market (3.5 miles from Loloma) has limited groceries, alcohol, and gas. McKenzie General Store (less than 1 mile from Loloma) has a little market and a grill (open for lunch/dinner).

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Pacific Northwest outdoor cocktail. The ceremony and reception will be outside (could be chilly). Suits, slacks and jackets, cocktail dresses and tall boots, or long dresses (for warmth!) This transitional season in the PNW is unpredictable. The weather could be 60 and sunny (fingers crossed), 40 and rainy, or 35 and snowing. The terrain at the venue varies from lush forest beds and grassy lawns, to gravel and paved paths.

Question

What happened to the forest?

Answer

"Months after the Holiday Farm Fire erupted near Blue River, Oregon [September 7, 2020], and tore through forests and small communities along the McKenzie River, recovery has been progressing slowly. While the smoky plumes rising from the mountainsides have dissipated, charred trees dot the barren landscape and remnants of burned buildings, garages, and cars still remain on many properties. The wildfire that burnt over 173,000 acres destroyed hundreds of homes in the towns of Blue River, Nimrod, Vida, and Finn Rock, and resulted in the evacuation of thousands of people." Question

Anything else?

Answer

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with additional questions. Especially for our out-of-towners, we would love to offer recommendations on where to stay, what to eat, and how to spend time in Eugene and other parts of Oregon if you wish to extend your trip. eshelt643@gmail.com mbr91@icloud.com
