Jon and Sydney began their friendship working alongside each other as EMTs on an ambulance in September of 2017. Each of them would look forward to their Thursday shifts as they got to see each other again and further develop a friendship which would ultimately last a lifetime. Jon and Sydney split paths momentarily to continue advancing in their careers when Jon went to a fire academy and Sydney went to work on a 911 ambulance. Eventually they reconnected at a new ambulance company and the spark reignited immediately. Jon & Sydney went on a date to the Huntington Beach pier, and from that moment on they have continued to develop their love for each other.

On Wednesday, July 12 of 2023 Sydney and Jon started the day knowing they had plans to meet up on a double date in Laguna Beach for dinner, or at least that is what Sydney had thought. They went to a yoga class together and hung out around the house until it was time to leave. They hit the road hand in hand, got halfway there, when their friends called to inform they’d be an hour late, Jon had scripted that phone call days prior. From that point on Sydney was convinced they truly were going on a double date and it was nothing out of the ordinary. Jon had told her to waste time they should go to Top Of The World, upon walking up the hill there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and could see for miles, the two embraced the view, and before walking down Jon proposed to Sydney. Their parents and siblings were a block away and came running up immediately following the proposal. Families took photos together and made plans to go to Skyloft bar in Laguna Beach, which is a frequent spot for Sydney and Jon. Sydney had assumed it would be our parents and siblings only however Jon reserved a room for 45 of our closest family and friends to help celebrate our forever.
