We first met at a friends house in high school. Those blue eyes instantly sucked me in. We hung out a few times and didn't think much of it. Ten years later, during the pandemic, I posted on Instagram a desperate plea asking where people in Delaware were getting toilet paper. His sarcastic response caught my attention, and like that we clicked. We talked for days. He drove home from the shore one weekend to catch up over a bonfire. We talked all night long into the next day and haven’t been apart since. That's when we both thought, "Okay. Some things can last forever after all".
We had an eventful day spending time with family at a Christmas parade and going to a football game. We found a nice place for dinner before going to look at Christmas lights at Longwood Gardens. On the way there we sang "Buy Dirt", a cute little country love song as he held my hand in the car. When we made it home, standing in front of our Christmas tree he got down on one knee. I screamed "YES", and we were engaged! I’m not really easy to surprise, and he caught me completely off guard.
