Travel Note
We recognize what a huge ask it is for our family and friends to travel so far for our big day. This has been a dream of ours for as long as we can remember. We want to say thank you so much for your time and consideration in advance, whether you are able to attend or not! We look forward to celebrating with you all, near or afar!
Flight
The many times we have traveled to Italy, we fly the red-eye flight with Emirates from JFK Airport direct to MXP Airport in Milan. We utilize the train at MXP (located on the ground floor of Terminal 2), and travel straight to our destination. There are also direct flight options out of Newark Airport. The train ride from MXP Airport to Florence is a very scenic 3 hour train ride.
Flight
There are direct flights from Newark/NYC to Florence. Florence airport is a 30 minute taxi ride to Borgo Divino and a 15 minute train ride to the city center. Firenze-Peretola Airport has its own train line out of Terminal 2.
Flight
There are direct flights from Newark/NYC to FCO Airport in Rome. FCO also has its own train line in terminal 3, which is also a very scenic 3 hour train ride to Florence.
Train
Santa Maria Novella is the main train station in Florence, just a few minutes walking distance to the city center. The best website we have found to purchase train tickets is Rome2Rio.com. We have found that traveling from place to place using the train stations have been the most convenient. We have never had to rent a vehicle to get from one location to the next. If using the train to get to Florence, there are always taxis lined up in front. Uber is also available in Florence. The taxi ride to Borgo Divino is 30 minutes from the city center, (though we highly recommended you spend a night or two in the main city of Florence, Tuscany before heading to Borgo Divino August 25!)
