Question

Is this a child-free wedding?

Answer

Nope! We love our family and friends’ little ones immensely. We’d love for them to come. That being said, we completely understand if you choose not to bring them and want a little time with your partner to relax and have a blast, child-free. This is completely up to you! There will definitely be a few other kids in attendance, including ours, from ages 3 to 16 so there will be other kids to play with. Everything will be wrapping up by 10pm! Completely respect if it’s easiest to leave your kids with a caretaker 😊 Please let us know if they’re coming, they’ll be in the final guest count and have all the food and goodies they want. Water, soda, juice/lemonade will be readily available. There will also be a fire pit (supervised) and corn hole so the little ones will have other options than just dancing. Although hopefully they’ll join in a bit too 😉

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. This is a good middle ground between casual (jeans) and black tie/gown attire. We want you to be comfortable! Wear your best but if you’re not sure, completely fine to err on the comfortable side, wear your favorite outfit that is fun to you! Guys, this could mean a suit, jacket or just dress shirt. Ladies, dresses, skirts and jumpsuits are some ideas. If you wear heels, feel free to kick them off and switch to flip flops later or stay in flats the whole time. The wedding party will be wearing shades of green, champagne and gray suits.

Question

Will alcohol be provided?

Answer

Absolutely! There will be an open bar. We will purchase a selection of beer and wine and there will also be a few signature cocktail drinks that the bartender will create. There will also be plenty of non-alcoholic drink options and water readily available to fuel the dancing!

Question

What can we expect at the venue?

Answer

This is a lovely mountain property. There will be a gravel road for about a quarter of a mile off the main road leading up the venue. There is parking onsite in a gravel parking lot. The ceremony will take place outdoors in the late afternoon. Early June I don’t expect it to be very hot or very cool. Want to wear heels? No fear. The path from the ceremony location to the reception area can be traversed in heels or if it's more comfortable, the venue staff can transport you by golf cart! The reception and dancing will take place on the same property in a modern, elegant barn with places to mingle outside. Hopefully we can have the barn doors open the whole time as well. We want it to have a very outdoors feel. In case of heavy rain, we have options to move the ceremony inside but only if completely necessary. June evenings can be cool so you may want to bring a light jacket for later that can easily be removed if you’re getting warm from all the dancing!

Question

Can I smoke at the venue?

Answer

We understand if you need to step out for a smoke break. Please be mindful of where you are and use only the designated area. I have let the venue know we would like a spot available. It will be outside the barn reception space. Ask any of the staff or wedding coordinator if you are not sure of the location.

Question

I have dietary restrictions, what is the menu?

Answer

Food will be catered by the most delicious bbq place! There are options if you’re gluten-free, or vegetarian, dairy-free, etc. There will also be a wide range of dessert options, including gluten-free. Following the ceremony light appetizers and drinks will be served before dinner starts.

Question

I’m traveling, do you have accommodation recommendations?

Answer

Most of us are traveling several hours down and we’re making a wedding weekend of it! I have a section up on this website with the hotel block and Airbnb recommendations in the area. I’ve seen some very reasonable in the range of $75-$100 per night, others ranging $150-$300. The wedding block we have reserved starts at $189/night. There is plenty of parking at the venue. Overnight parking is not ideal but if needed the venue asks that cars be picked up before 9:00AM the next morning. Ubers are not abundant out there so I will also include transportation options on this website soon for those who will be drinking. We very much appreciate you traveling to be with us, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
