We stood there overlooking the sunset with the city gleaming in the back. It was the perfect spot, as years prior, we stood there on our first date. I was falling head over heels, and she was wondering if this was the day she got to test her taser. I knew we had a connection unlike any other as I told her that we were soulmates and I would marry her in the future. She laughed and started to reach into her purse. As my fight or flight instincts kicked in, I told her that we would see where this went and to know that one day I would tell her I told her so. Fast-forward; I'm petrified with nerves, trying not to fumble what I want to say. She's looking out over the water at the city, a little cranky as she thought we were getting food. I calmed my nerves and got on one knee to ask her the most important question of my life. Starved and in shock over what she was looking at, she remained silent, keeping me on my knees for what felt like an eternity. Finally blessing me with her attention she smiled, laughed and cried and said, "OH ya, I mean yes"! As I gathered the last of my strength to stand up, we embraced, making the greatest memory I will cherish forever.
