We met at the Cheesecake Factory where he was a server and I was a hostess. We weren't fond of each other at first since I would seat all of his tables at once and he would come complain to me at the front desk. We eventually became friends and started hanging out outside of work.
On our 5th year anniversary, we decided to take a trip to Napa that Marisa thought she had planned. Little did she know, I coordinated our proposal. I convinced her that we should try something we have never done before and made her believe that a hot air balloon ride would be fun. She was hesitant at first, but after she did her research she booked the trip. On my end, I had already booked an agency that I then had to cancel. Luckily for me, the one she booked was more affordable and intimate. The staff was very accommodating to my proposal needs and helped in a big way. On the morning of our proposal (May 1, 2022), she wasn't too fond of getting up to do her makeup at 4am for the winery that we planned to go to afterwards, but I knew she'd be happy she did. When we arrived at the station, I checked in under "Reyes" and the workers behind the manager all popped their heads up at me, knowing about our big day. Marisa had to use the restroom so I had the chance to talk with the staff about our plans and we even shared a laugh about their reactions. However, it made me more nervous. One by one people were getting called to enter the basket, causing Marisa and especially myself to grow more anxious. We were the last to be called which left her very confused when I started to take my jacket off. The manager gave me the go ahead and then I asked the biggest question of my life.. "Will you marry me?" Then and there my best friend and I agreed to spend the rest of our lives together.
