Kaitlyn Rexroat

Maid of Honor

Kaitlyn is Kristen’s little sister, and the similarity of their names still gives their mom trouble. Their similar appearance gives the rest of the world trouble too. They’ve been two peas in a pod since Kaitlyn was born, whether it was Kristen “translating” her baby sister’s babbling, Kaitlyn insisting on sleeping in her big sister’s bed, or both sisters rocking matching outfits. Kaitlyn has always been one of the best parts of Kristen’s life, and as they’ve grown up, she’s been there as an amazing built-in best friend for everything that matters along the way.

Jonathan Mitchell

Best Man

Jon is David’s older brother (and twin according to many people). David still looks up to his big brother even though he now has the height advantage over Jon. All joking aside, Jon has always been a source of encouragement and sound advice for David as they grew up together.

Joanna Morrison

Officiant

Joanna and Kristen met in law school, initially bonding over the terrible apartment building they both ended up in. After the first year, they decided to become roommates somewhere much much much better. They became besties, spending their time either snuggling at home watching Friends or dancing the night away in Nashville. Since law school, they’ve remained close friends even though they can’t live together anymore, so close that Joanna was the first person to deduce Kristen and Dave were dating, likely due to all her Investigation Discovery tv shows ;)

G. Hudson Drakes

Officiant

David met Hudson when they were attending graduate school in Nashville and they soon became friends through a common interest in music and basketball. Nowadays, they serve as each other’s hype men as they navigate the challenges and successes of their respective careers.

Fiorela Orezzoli

Bridesmaid

Fio and Kristen met at one of the first law school events, becoming besties immediately. They spent the days they weren’t in class at Starbucks or shopping, and Fio is still Kristen’s go-to fashion advisor to this day, even helping Kristen pick out her wedding dress. They spent their nights going out for Nashville’s delicious food, fancy cocktails, and dancing. They wore killer matching Halloween costumes every year in law school, and they continue to share their love for reading, amazing tv shows, and concerts. While they live far apart now, they visit each other as much as possible!

Matt Kusel

Groomsman

Matt and David met when they were both searching for a roommate for law school during in the summer of 2010. After exchanging a few messages on Facebook, they both thought “eh, good enough.” They soon became the best of friends and have remained close since moving from Nashville to New York after graduation.

Jordan Waplington

Bridesmaid

Kristen and Jordan met in middle school, playing on the same softball and basketball teams. When Kristen’s mom and Jordan’s dad got married, teammates and classmates became sisters. Jordan and Kristen navigated middle school, junior high, and high school together, sharing a wardrobe and spending summers running around Indiana with their friends and then traveling Europe together in college. Kristen was there the night Jordan met her now husband, and since Kristen didn’t ruin it, though she tried, Jordan’s beautiful children will also be a part of the wedding!

Cory Santos

Groomsman

Cory and David met in 2012 when they were summer associates at law firms in New York City. They became close friends after joining 1844, a group of Black male attorneys. Describing Cory as a character doesn’t do him justice, but suffice it to say that he has kept David on his toes throughout the years.

Danielle Vostrizansky

Bridesmaid

After moving to NYC, Kristen met Danielle through Dave. However, Kristen quickly hijacked Danielle, and they became fast friends instead. Danielle is now one of Kristen’s besties, sorry Dave. Danielle taught Kristen some new dance moves, and they bonded over their love of all Disney music. Danielle was one of Kristen’s first friends in NYC, and they’ve shared all of their ups and downs since then, supporting each other along the way over a glass of wine or two. Kristen may be forcing her love of Harry Potter on Danielle, but they’re still standing strong.

Vinnie Sood

Groomsman

Vinnie and David met in the summer of 2006 right before their freshman year at NYU and have been getting into shenanigans together ever since (if Vinnie can manage to show up on time). David and Vinnie’s friendship has withstood the test of time through college, graduate school, and now navigating their lives as adults (sort of).

Sarah Reist

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Kristen met in law school, but soon discovered they should have met sooner since they grew up only 20 minutes from each other in Indiana and were meant to be great friends. Their personalities meshed quickly due to their similar sense of humor, and they spread their fun between Nashville and Indiana during law school. Since Kristen was on her best behavior at Sarah’s wedding, Kristen is hoping Sarah won’t try to embarrass her. Now they’re both lawyers in different cities and Sarah is almost a mom, but their connection is going strong.

Benjie Messinger

Groomsman

Benjie and David are pretty much the definition of what you call “fast friends.” They met one summer during a beach weekend through mutual friends and immediately found each other to be kindred spirits. Since then, they have shared wins and losses together. Benjie and his wife, Jamie, were among the first people to welcome Kristen into their homes and their hearts.

Casey Miller

Bridesmaid

Casey was the first person Kristen met in law school while they were searching for possible roommates. While they didn’t end up living together, they met in person as they were entering orientation and remained close friends since that first day 9 years ago, enjoying vacations, dancing, and tailgates along the way. They both initially moved to NYC after law school, adjusting to the blizzards, subways, and small apartments together. Even though Casey moved back to Nashville :( at least they’re both still in cities they both love to visit!

Josh Bienstock

Groomsman

Josh met David during college and he holds a special place in David’s heart for being one of the few friends who visited him in Nashville. Josh’s sister lived there at the time, but we’ll still give him the brownie points. Josh has always been someone that will lend an ear during the ups and downs in David’s life, and, for that, he is happy to call him a friend.
