Question

I'm renting/bringing a car - where should I park for the wedding?

Answer

There will be somewhat limited parking on the property directly, with part of the driveway reserved for the caterers. If you can, please park on the side of Durfee Hill road and pull over onto the shoulder as far as you feel comfortable to allow room for other drivers to pass by. If you have any concerns around mobility/being able to walk between your car and the venue, please reach out to us and we will work to arrange a reserved spot for you on or as close to the property as possible.

Question

What will the reception be like?

Answer

Our reception will be very informal. We're hoping for it to feel kind of like a family picnic! There will be no assigned seating and no official schedule. You will be free to eat, socialize, dance, or play one of the many yard/board games that will be available at your leisure! You will also be welcome to leave and/or return as needed at any time during the reception. All we ask is that you are respectful of the property while you're partying with family :)

Question

What food and drinks will be available during the reception?

Answer

We will have many different options for food and drink during our reception! The main entrees and sides will be provided by The Silo Food Truck, which will be available from 12 to 4pm on the day of the wedding. You can visit their website at www.silofoodtruck.com if you’d like to check them out, but please be aware that the menu that will be offered for our wedding differs a bit from what is online! Additionally, Uncle Dave will be grilling up a variety of meats and veggies on the side. A number of soft drinks, seltzers, and other drinks will be available both from the food truck and in a separate cooler. Please be advised we have opted not to provide alcoholic drinks, but if you'd like to bring your own you may. Last but not least, there will be a dessert table serving both regular and vegan/gluten free cake from Ithaca's own Rashida's Bakery! You can find the full menu of what will be served during the reception here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rdQfSkrxvf1jy3xoXRUUyw8pGgfnu538/view?usp=sharing **Additional Allergen/Dietary Information** Silo has told us that their vegan/gluten free options are made with separate cooking equipment, including a separate fryer, to avoid cross-contamination. An allergen info card will be available on the truck upon request. Additionally, they have stated that substitutions and special requests are welcome so long as they have what you are requesting on the truck! We will only have one grill for the additional meats and veggies, so if you have any concerns about cross-contamination we recommend you opt for ordering from the food truck. The cakes will have signs in front indicating which is vegan/gluten free and which is not. If you have any other dietary concerns, you are welcome to message us at any time! We want to ensure everyone has what they need for a delicious and filling meal when you come to celebrate with us :)

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we can't predict for sure, late June weather in Ithaca is typically sunny and warm with an average high of 79F / 26C. We will have a tent set up in the reception area covering the tables to provide shade and a place to rest/eat/play games. A summer shower is possible, so we'll be monitoring the weather forecast and adjusting plans if needed - please check back here for updates closer to!

Question

Where will the bathrooms be?

Answer

Doug and Marty, along with graciously allowing us to hold our wedding on their property, will be opening their house to guests to be able to use either of their two bathrooms. There is one in the basement and one on the "ground" floor. There will be signage to help you find them when needed!
