Symphony Nester

Matron of Honor

Symphony has been Sarah’s best friend ever since the universe brought them together a third time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during a pre-college program at Carnegie Mellon University in the summer of 2011. Symphony and Sarah had met twice before then, as cast members in a local musical theater production in 2009 and at a 2-week theater summer camp program at UCLA in 2010. They didn’t get the hint to start getting to know each other until they were stuck together for 8 weeks far from home but somehow both from Orange County, California. They were inseparable from that moment on and decided they would never say good bye to each other when the program ended. Ever since that summer, Symphony and Sarah have been best friends and always present for each others’ biggest moments. Sarah was Symphony’s maid of honor at her wedding, and is the god mother of her beautiful baby girl Aysa Grace. Now, Sarah is so excited and honored to have Symphony as her Matron of Honor.

Bridget Murphy

Bridesmaid

Bridget & Sarah met in high school in 2009 when they were assigned to the same group for an Honors English video-based assignment that required them to tell a story revolving around a main concept, and theirs was: oxymoron! Lo and behold, Courage the Cowardly Lion was born and Sarah ended up somehow in a lion costume & biking on a stationary bike in Bridget’s family’s front lawn. Besides learning that Sarah & Bridget could become the next prolific filmmakers of Orange County, they also learned they had a lot in common: they both loved live music and going to concerts, listening to alternative and rock music, and making dumb jokes, to name a few. So a friendship was born, and it wouldn’t be the last time Sarah & Bridget filmed school projects together at her family’s home. Sarah & Bridget have been close friends through it all over the many years, and spent so many fun weekends together during college and after. Sarah was Bridget’s bridesmaid in her wedding, and is so excited to have Bridget as one of her bridesmaids now.

Marilyn Zhang

Bridesmaid

Marilyn has been in Sarah’s life as her step-cousin since her mother Heather married Sarah’s uncle John when Sarah was in her sophomore year of high school (2010). When Sarah & Marilyn met during their wedding weekend, they became fast friends and stayed up late every night together talking about cute boys at their schools, family gossip, and shared interests and hobbies. Marilyn has proven to be a bright light in the Pence family (Sarah’s mother’s family) over the many years since her mother’s wedding weekend, and Sarah & Marilyn have continued to develop a deep friendship ever since. While Marilyn lived in Los Angeles during and after her time at UCLA, Sarah & Marilyn had many of their favorite music and foodie adventures together for years until Marilyn recently moved to NYC to pursue her love for the city. Now, Sarah is so excited to have Marilyn back in Los Angeles once more as one of her bridesmaids.

Victoria Lekson

Bridesmaid

Sarah & Victoria were both in the music department at Pepperdine University during college: Sarah as a classical vocalist and Victoria as a classical harpist. They were in the same graduation class (2016), but for some reason did not connect truly until their senior year at Pepperdine: one day Victoria asked Sarah which concerts she had been to lately, and they learned they had a lot of favorite artists in common, including Radiohead, Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, and many more. They became close quickly & soon enough were going to concerts together regularly in LA during their last year in college and camped together at Dad-chella 2016 & Coachella 2017 after college. Sarah & Victoria had many adventures together in Los Angeles after college, and continue to when Sarah visits Victoria in Ohio, Kentucky, and Chicago for Pitchfork Festival, and when Victoria comes back to Los Angeles to visit Sarah and her friends. Sarah & Victoria have continued having a strong friendship since their college years, and Sarah is now so excited to have Victoria as one of her bridesmaids.

Chloe Doyle

Bridesmaid

Sarah & Chloe met when Chloe joined Sarah’s sorority in college (Alpha Phi) as a new member when Sarah was a sophomore and Chloe a freshman in Fall 2017. When Sarah started to get to know Chloe during the first few weeks of Chloe pledging to become a member, she realized Chloe could be an amazing APhi little sister. Once Sarah & Chloe became Big and Little, they developed a strong bond of sisterhood and love that brought them close together over the 3 years they were in college together. While Chloe left LA after college and has been living her best cowgirl life in Clovis, California, Sarah & Chloe have continued to be there for each other and celebrate each others’ wins in life. Now, Sarah is more than honored to have Chloe as one of her bridesmaids.

Rosy Garcia

Bridesmaid

Rosy & Sarah met when Sarah started working at PatientPop as a Web Content Manager in 2018. Rosy was the Team Lead for the Digital Marketing Services team and it was obvious to Sarah as to why: Rosy was warm, caring, and always supported her team members no matter what. Rosy also fell in love with Sarah’s dog June, whom Sarah had adopted shortly after starting at PP since it was a dog-friendly office. A year or so later, Sarah wanted to find a new apartment but needed a roommate. Sarah heard that Rosy was in the market to live with a roommate soon, so Sarah asked her right away. Rosy agreed, especially since June was part of the roommate deal. When Sarah & Rosy moved in together, it became clear that they would become close friends and be there for each other through the high’s and low’s of life and dating in Los Angeles. Although Sarah & Rosy don’t live together anymore, they remain close to this day and Rosy still makes sure to have her godmother play dates with June, and now Tsuki too. Sarah is so grateful to have Rosy as a friend and now as one of her bridesmaids.
