We both grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended the same K-12 school. Although we were briefly in the same Girl Scout troop and performed in the same piano recitals, we never had a conversation until high school during our sophomore-year English class. We wound up in the same friend group and became better friends over time, especially during our senior year. After graduating high school, we texted frequently over the summer about our excitement for college and the books we were reading. Our mutual love for Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo inspired us to create our first of many projects–the heist. Throughout the summer, we created a plan to steal the entire wardrobe of our friend, leaving only her school uniform. We recruited our friends, created a detailed plan, and loved pouring hours into some silly fun. While the heist didn’t end up working out, the complex planning only made us grow closer. Going to college 1,000 miles apart did not stop our 4 AM text conversations and frequent video calls. A month into our freshman year of college, we started a long-distance relationship. We had four years of virtual movie nights, countless Game Pigeon competitions, and taking advantage of school breaks before closing the distance and moving to Austin in 2022. Our favorite memories of this time are meal prepping together weekly and supporting each other in frisbee tournaments and improv shows. Two years later, we became engaged and since then have had so much fun planning our most exciting project yet!
