Andriy & Victoria met at Hunter College. They were both part of the Puerto Rican Multicultural Club & bonded over games. What initially began as flirting over a round of dominoes became something more very quickly.
Andriy asked Victoria out on a dinner date to The Bao by Astor Place. In true Andriy fashion, he was late. Victoria decided to hide in the multilevel K-Mart & have Andriy participate in a game of hide & seek as payback. After a while, he found her & they enjoyed a lovely dinner. After dinner he wanted to take her to Washington Square Park to just talk. He assured her he knew the way & didn’t need directions. He got them a bit lost on the way but he’ll tell you it was all worth it because they saw a dog on a skate board. After spending a couple of hours just talking & getting to know each other, Victoria knew Andriy was the one for her.
Contrary to popular belief, Andriy & Victoria did not get engaged at Walt Disney World. They had gone on Victoria’s first international trip to Aruba for her birthday. On the night of their fanciest dinner, despite terrible sunburn, he took her out to the beach during sunset to a lone dock with no one around and asked her to marry him. A passerby noticed what was happening & took a photo of them from very far that looks like it was taken on a Nintendo DS which is why they announced using the Disney photos instead. At the bottom of this page is a picture from where he proposed.
