This is the story of the beautiful couple, Kassanda Renteria and Nicholas Dzierwa. Way back in December of 2022, Nick started a new job at KQF that, unbeknownst to him, would change his and her lives from that day forward. Kassy worked the front desk while Nick worked back in the shipping office. From time to time, Kassy would bring the mail back to Nick's office. These two individuals are both on the shy side, and their conversations weren't long, but they both looked forward to them. Early the next year, Kassy would change employment and began to work at Home Repair Services, leaving Nick behind in the cold "igloo" in the freezing shipping department. They wouldn't speak until early summer of 2023, when Nick would send Kassy the most unexpected message. She would respond to his request of taking her out sometime. They than began talking almost every day until exhaustion. Then one day... the conversation stopped for almost 10 days, thanks to technology, Nick would send a message to Kassy she would never receive. She would go on a lengthy trip which made Nick think that she was just busy with her family in Texas while Kassy thought that he had just "ghosted" her. Kassy would return from her trip and Nick still wondered where she had gone. Over the next days, both would be thinking the other no longer who was interested until another text came through. The conversation was reignited and something was said about a birthday that Kassy would be celebrating and with a little math and a couple questions they figured out that they both shared the same birthday on July 7th. They made plans that this be their first date! From that day on they were pretty much inseparable doing almost anything together. Eventually they made plans for Kassy to meet Nick's daughter, Hazel, and the three of them have loved each other ever since. Kassy drew the short side of the stick and had to meet Nick's family right away because they were in town while Nick got lucky with her family being back in Chicago. Both of their families accepted the other with open arms and open hearts. They would go on several adventures together in Michigan & Chicago. On February 15th, 2025, Nick would ask another unexpected question. After a morning of swimming with Hazel and Kassy, Nick would bring them to lunch with his parents, Gary and Judy. After that, they would then go on a walk to the dam in Rockford, which was covered in snow and ice. As they were walking down the path over the dam, Nick's parents secretly video called, Jose and Maria, Kassy's parents. After several moments lot of awkwardness, which is common for Nick and Kassy, making her unsuspecting, Nick turned to Kassy and put his knee on the ground asking Kassy to marry him. She would look him in the face and say "What are you doing?", before he could put the ring on her finger, she pulled him up and gave him a hug he'll never forget, and said "yes." After that and a few laughs from all four parents, he finally put the ring on her finger, the very one his dad proposed to his mom with. Most of you know the rest of the story, and they have been planning for the day ever since.
