October 2024 ~ The Proposal

“Second Chances”

It all started in 2008 when fate (and a Blackberry) brought Renneeh and Jerome together. Jerome sold Renneeh her phone, then texted a few days later to let her know her orange phone case was available—smooth, right? One message turned into another, and before they knew it, they were grabbing lunch and spending more time together. But here’s the crazy part—before they even met, Jerome had already been asking Renneeh’s friend Zyra about her. Somehow, the universe kept nudging them toward each other. And as if that wasn’t enough, back in 2006, Renneeh had written a college paper on the Hyphy Movement. While researching, she came across several photos, but out of all of them, she chose his—a picture of Jerome with Mistah F.A.B., promoting his clothing brand Stuntastic. At the time, she had no idea who he was—but somehow, out of all the photos she came across, she was drawn to his. Looking back, it’s clear their paths were already crossing before they even knew it. The Bay Area became their playground—whether they were exploring San Francisco, kicking it in Vallejo, or spending time with both of their big families, they were always together. Their lives intertwined not just through them, but through the people they loved, making every moment even more meaningful. For seven years, they built a life side by side—until life pulled them in different directions. They grew, pursued their careers, and eventually, they went their separate ways. For seven years, they lived separate lives, following their own paths, never knowing if those paths would cross again. But fate wasn’t done with their story yet. Though they had gone their own ways, there was one moment that brought them back together—when Renneeh’s father, who was like a father to Jerome, passed away. It was a heartbreaking time, but in that moment, they reconnected, even if just briefly. Not long after, the world changed with COVID, and so did the course of their lives once again. For seven years, they were apart. Then, one day at City Sports in Vallejo, they saw each other again. Neither of them had any expectations—they had no idea what would come of it. But somehow, just like before, everything fell back into place. Now, after all these years, they are back where they belong—together. And this time, it’s forever. Cheers to the beautiful gift of second chances and a love that was always meant to be.
