Who would have thought online dating would be such a great thing? I surely didn't...at first! After many failed attempts at online dating I told myself this is it, NO MORE. But one day, I got this urge telling me to give it one more shot. So I did just that. Filled out my online profile yet again, and was completely transparent about what I was looking for. Ryan was the first to message me. After emailing back and forth for awhile we decided to meet! (Here we go!) Our first date was May 5th, Cinco De Mayo! We met up at Cantina Diablos in Royal Oak. I remember Ryan being pretty quiet and nervous. I did my best to help him feel more comfortable by being my cheery sarcastic self ;) It was lunch time and me loving food, couldn't wait to chow down! Ryan tells me that he's not really hungry. (Say What?!) I do not like to eat alone and my first thought was "Who goes on a date at a restaurant and doesn't eat?" haha. However the date went pretty well. I left that day feeling intrigued by this man that I instantly wanted to know more about. (especially his eating habits lol). After weeks of dating, Ryan opened up more and more and we realized just how much we had in common as well as how different we both were. Ryan officially asked me to be his girlfriend June 14th, 2018. :) Of course I said yes! This man knew how to make me feel more loved and appreciated than I have ever felt from another. It was always my something missing. And in Ryan, I have found my everything.....FINALLY

One of the things I love about Ryan and I's relationship is that he isn't afraid to talk "future". We have spent many nights gazing into each others eyes talking about how life is so whimsical and....haha not really! But seriously, I have this man that I can completely be open with and when you hear a man start talking about his future and how you fit into that! (Oh man, he's a keeper!) It's like every girls best dream come true! We talked weddings! We talked houses, yours or mine. We talked babies, one or two?! So it was no surprise where the two of us were headed. But the day he proposed was unexpected. Of course I thought it was going to happen on Valentine's day but that day came and went and so I really had no clue when he'd do it. Sunday (Feb 17th) we were meeting his family for dinner as a late Bday celebration for Ryan and afterwards we went back to his parents house to open gifts and visit with the family. I sat at the fireplace with a glass of wine (shocker, right!) while Ryan opened his gifts. When he finished he stood (awkwardly) next to me. I remember wondering why the heck he is just standing there and not sitting next to me. He finally did sit next to me as he began to thank everyone for the generous gifts." I want to thank everyone for my gifts...But I want to be a little greedy and want more for my birthday this year. There is only one person that can do that for me. (I am still oblivious) But he then turns to me and asks if I can please stand, and it's right then that my heart completely melts! He get's down on one knee...."April Nicole Reneski, I love you so much. I want you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" Through the tears I managed to mumble YES!!! (yes, yes Yes!) The man I have been waiting for all my life is right here in front of me, my most frequent prayer to God, answered! How truly blessed I feel to begin this journey with you Ryan James!
