Kick-off Party - Welcome to Knoxville!

Come as you are - ready to play in Downtown Knoxville

Join us for light bites and cocktails at Sherry's gallery in the Old City before you head out to explore. Our lively downtown is full of great restaurants, entertainment, and things to do all in easy walking distance from Dogwood Arts, the hotel, or nearby parking garages. We recommend making a reservation for dinner in advance and these are some of our favorite spots in or near the Old City: Adopo (the BEST wood fired pizza), Otsu (Asian dumplings and small plates), Osteria Stella (Italian). There are also a ton of options in or near Market Square which is a 5-10 min walk from Dogwood Arts. Tomato Head is the OG pizza and business on Market Square. Try the Oliver Royale or Emilia if you want to be fancy. Want a beverage, try Peter Kern's Library or one of the many rooftop bars, you can't go wrong. You can check out large-scale sculptures and murals in that area too plus rooftop bars and awesome ice cream spots for that late night craving.

After 20 years together, we eloped this fall with a perfect weekend getaway to one of our favorite destinations, Healdsburg, CA. While we couldn't include everyone for the nuptials, we hope you will join us for the reception to celebrate our lives together this summer at the lovely farm of our friend, Vicki Baumgartner. Cocktail hour under the shade trees beginning at 5 PM. Welcome and remarks at 6 PM followed by dinner & dancing under the stars. Travel Note: Vicki's farm is roughly 20-25 minutes from downtown Knoxville but much of the route is curvy and in a rural area with no street lights. Carpooling is a great idea. Lyft and Uber are options too but return will definitely need to be scheduled to ensure pick up.
