Sam met Brandon in 2012 in EMT Training. The two of them were inseparable until training was completed and Sam went to Yellowstone while Brandon moved back to Battle Creek and worked at Borgess hospital. They have some of the best memories with each other. Brandon has been one of the most supportive people in Sam's life. But that isn't exclusive to Sam; it's who Brandon is as a person. Any time, anywhere, if you needed help, he'd be there. Whether its picking you up from a car break down, making sure you don't die when you way overdo it at a New Year's Eve party, or calling you with a fake emergency to get you out of a really bad date, Brandon's got your back.

Sam met Mark in 2022 when Mark came to work with him in security at a hospital. Sam was Mark's field training officer and the two of them realized immediately they'd be great friends. During training, Sam realized he actually interviewed with Mark for a different job prior to both of them working at the hospital, and they both agreed where they were now was the best turn of events. Sam and Mark quickly became a notorious duo throughout the hospital, sharing their sense of bleak humor in intense situations and being back to back in some very gruesome and violent situations.

Sam met Scott, Renee's twin brother, in 2018 while Renee and Sam dated. Sam immediately knew that Scott was a genuine, kind, trusting person. Scott has always been supportive of Sam and Renee's relationship, which Sam has been tremendously grateful for. Scott is a dedicated brother to Renee and offers his help to anyone who needs it. He's anxious to include Sam in anything he's doing, be it golfing, boating, or just playing Mario Party online with Renee and Camryn. Sam is excited and honored to be able to call Scott a brother, as well as forever thankful for all of his support.

Sam met Chase in 2022. Chase was Sam's first trainer at the hospital he worked at, just before Chase became a K9-Handler. Sam and Chase's friendship was immediate, and the two of them enjoyed training together with Chase's K9. When Sam's mother was in the emergency room on a night Sam and Chase were working, Chase brought his K9 in to do a visit and a demo of some tricks, and brought a smile to her face in a time of great distress.

Sam met Jeremy in 2018. In 2022, Sam came to work at the hospital with Jeremy, who was Sam's sergeant. The two of them became quick friends, and shared a love of annoying their lieutenant to the point the lieutenant would put his face in his palms. Together, the two of them have come out of some dangerous situations and shared emotional turmoil during sadder situations. Working with Jeremy at the hospital was one of the greatest things about working there to Sam, as he knew any time he worked with Jeremy he'd laugh most of the shift.

Larry Van Trump

Sam met Larry in 2013 in his first year working in Yellowstone National Park. Much to Larry's lament, he was Sam's manager, with all of the headaches that came with that. More seriously, though, Larry quickly became a father figure to Sam, filling a substantial void in his life. Being thousands of miles away from his home, Larry offered support to Sam whenever he could, including inviting him to his home for holidays. When Larry saw that Sam and Renee were engaged, his offer to officiate was immediate and genuine, and neither Sam or Renee could think of anyone better.
