Question

What about COVID-19? Will we have to wear a mask?

Answer

Starting June 1st, 2021, Governor Whitmer has lifted all restrictions for all outdoor events. No masks will be required outdoors. Regardless of whether or not you are vaccinated. Starting July 1st, 2021, anyone will be allowed indoor and outdoor without wearing a mask. This includes vaccinated and non-vaccinated guests. Please feel free to wear a mask if that is what you personally decide to do!

What is the guest attire?

Answer

Beach cocktail. The ceremony is on a deck platform at the beach. You will not be in the sand. For ladies, beach cocktail attire is pretty much cocktail attire with a little fun mixed in! It can be a floral maxi dress, jazzed up with some color, or the classic LBD. Since we're on a platform near the water, feel free to wear anything from dressy sandals to heels! Comfortable footwear for dancing is recommended! ;) For the gentlemen, a jacket isn’t required, but perhaps a breathable sport coat or unique blazer is a fun addition. It's August in Northern MI, it's going to be warm! All I ask is that you leave the cargo shorts and crocks at home. Loafers and boat shoes are perfectly acceptable with some slacks and an island shirt...tucked in of course. Have fun with it.

The ceremony starts at 4:00pm and check-in is at the same time. What do you suggest I do if my room isn’t available yet?

Answer

There are a few options here... 1.) Always call ahead to see if you can access your room for an early check-in. 2.) Ask the front desk of there is a locker room or spacious bathroom to change and freshen up. 3.) You can always leave your luggage with the bell hop!

How do we get to the ceremony and reception if they are in different locations?

Answer

There is no parking at the ceremony site. Parking at the hotel is free! We will have shuttles circulating guests from the lobby entrance of the hotel down to the ceremony site. The shuttles for guests will run from 3:00-3:30pm. Please plan accordingly! :) Once the ceremony is over and we are officially Mr. & Mrs. the shuttles will be there to take guests back up to the hotel and drop guests at the reception tent entrance for cocktail hour.

Do you have a hotel block?

Answer

Yes! But rooms are going fast! Please call the hotel and give the group name Brunette-Morse! There are other great hotels in the area as well!

It’s an outdoor ceremony...what if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Answer

Well, it’s not going to rain. BUT, if it does, we do have an indoor space on reserve. Guests will be notified via this website and word of mouth of any location changes the day before the event.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We truly appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kiddos at home so you can celebrate with us!
