Swipe. Heart. Goodnight. Those are the three words that describe how we met. Even through each text, we felt like we've known each other for years, so many things in common. Our punch line soon became "of course you do". After what seemed like a month, we met for our first date. Pouring down rain and gusty were completely forgotten about during our three hour conversation. What we once prayed for was now our reality. It was clear from the beginning that we were place in each other life on purpose.
Through her eyes: It was a Friday night, I was driving down to see him. I sent a text to say that I was on my way. He didn't respond. I was not in the best mood. I reached the exit and sent my "2 minutes away" message. Still no response and growing more negative. I pulled up to the house to my "not so normal" greeting, Normally, Jared has the door open or is meeting me outside. I sat outside for another minute or two. Nothing. So, I got out of my car and got my fifteen bags and marched up to the door only to find the door was locked. With bags in hand, I had to dig in my purse to get the keys back out. I put the key in the door and turned the knob, the door flew open. He was standing behind the door. As I brushed my way past him, he started to grab the bags and just put them down on the floor, this was not normal behavior. He rushed me over to the couch. I notice that the lights were dim, there was a playlist going, and candles were lit, however, this was all normal behavior. I was confused. I quickly remembered that he mentioned earlier that a gift for me arrived. I was so excited, "this was it, he's going to ask me". "Close your eyes," he said. "Is it food, cause I am starving," I replied. "No, just close your eyes." He paused. "Open them." Ek! There he was down on one knee.... and then I glanced down "Oh... shoes? You got me shoes!" My emotions took a minute to catch up. Expecting a ring and here was a Timberland box. Still excited and it explained why he was on his knee. "Yeah, look at these." He opened the box, and low and behold was a pair of heels Timberland boots. Ones that I had mentioned a few week previous that I wanted. "I love them!" "Here, try them on." He took a shoe out of the box and out of the plastic while I took my shoe off. I went to go put my foot in, "Oh Love, you forgot to take the paper out." We both laughed. I was leaning down to fix my sock while he removed the paper and when I lifted my head up, there it was, the perfect proposal.
