When their first date started with a text message from Renee reading: "So... I swear I'm not bailing on you...", Emily wasn't feeling too optimistic. They met on Tinder (yes, Tinder), which was pretty questionable territory to them both. After many failed attempts through other "dating apps" and plenty of horror stories to share, there was plenty of reason to be doubtful. Emily played it smart, gushing over the cuteness of the dog in Renee's profile picture as a conversation starter. After three days of frequent chatting, followed by an exchanging of phone numbers and plenty more chatting, they decided to give it a go. "...traffic is stupid, so I'll be a few minutes late." The text continued. Insert sigh of relief, here. The first date -did- take place, at Average Joe's on Sancus Boulevard. Renee was late, but she was also sick, like... bronchitis sick, (and also incredibly kind and, duh, beautiful), so the tardiness was easily forgiven. The two of them -kind of- watched the Dallas Cowboys play the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Divisional Round, but mostly they talked. It was comfortable, it was effortless; it was the start of forever. Flash forward a year and a half later, and Emily and Renee would find themselves engaged and moving in together, a whopping 0.5 miles from the very place they met! Now, on October 26th, 2019, the couple will be married! They'll celebrate the chance that brought them together, but more importantly, they'll celebrate the time, devotion, and love that will keep them together, "until death do us part".
