Flight
Sarasota (SRQ) or Fort Myers (RSW) are the closest airports - both are an hour and twenty minute drive from Boca Grande. Tampa (TPA) is a 2 hour drive. There is also a small regional airport in Punta Gorda that services Allegiant Air flights (including one from Richmond, VA), approximately 1 hour away. Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Miami (MIA) are major international hubs on the east coast of Florida, and about a 3 hour drive to Boca Grande.
Travel Note
The best way to get to Boca Grande is to rent a car at the airport. All the airports have car rentals available. However, you may find that you will not be using your car often throughout the weekend. In that case, we would recommend a car service. Car services can also be arranged through Sea Breeze Limousine - (941) 475-1558 or Boca Grande Limousine - (941) 964-0455 / bocagrandelimo.com. An Uber/Lyft from RSW Airport is approximately $80 (NOTE: Uber/Lyft might be available to bring you to the island but should NOT be relied upon to take you to the airport!)
Hotel
The weekend's festivities will be centered around the Inn. Rooms start at $415/night. In addition to conventional hotel rooms, a number of small cottages and houses are also available. The reservations office can provide more details. There are no online reservations. Please call 941-964-4628 or 941-964-4520 to reserve a room and reference the Brown | Carpenter Wedding. You can also email the Group Reservations Specialist, Julie Meyer: jmeyer@gasparillainn.com. *Guests staying at the Gasparilla Inn & Club have access to tennis, golf, fitness, croquet and spa activities as well as the Beach Club.
Hotel
This is another great option that is just half a mile from the wedding festivities (about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute golf cart ride). It is the sister property to the Gasparilla Inn. The rooms here start at $170/night. Rooms at the Innlet can be booked by calling 941.964.4600. Please reference the Brown | Carpenter wedding. *Guests selecting this option will not have access to the Inn facilities. There is an onsite pool and it is across the street from a public beach access point.
Travel Note
The best way to travel on the island is by golf cart, with abundant cart paths all over the island. There is typically plenty of car parking available as well, if you drive over or rent a car. Please note that there is a $6 fee per car to cross the bridge onto the island. There are many golf cart rental agencies, but we recommend advance planning via Caddy Carts (www.caddy-carts.com) for the best prices - they will deliver to the island. On-island rentals can be accomplished through Gasparilla Adventures (gasparillaadventures.com) or Boca Grande Carts (www.bocagrandecarts.com). Renting bikes is also a great options or simply walking - all of our wedding activities are in town as well as the majority of restaurants, bars, and shops. This is one of the things we love about Boca Grande!
