Dontee and I met at our high school in February of 2005. Though we had attended the same school for almost two years by this time, our paths had never crossed. He was waiting on the bus to leave for his baseball game and I was leaving band practice. He called me over to the bus, we spoke for a couple of minutes, and exchanged numbers. We spent about a year and a half building our friendship before deciding to pursue a relationship. We've been together ever since!
Mother's Day Sunday in Toronto, Canada. We were celebrating the opening night of Renee’s sister’s play. I thought it might be the perfect time to ask Renee to marry me. I had prepped everyone and made them aware of my intentions when her sister, Trey, suggested that I do it at the show. So that night after the amazing production of How Black Mother's Say I Love You by Trey Anthony, we were called on stage and I professed my love. I asked Renee if she would do me the honor of becoming my wife.
