Maid of Honor
Carly and I met freshman year at Knox in a photography elective we thought would be fun—only to end up trapped in the darkroom for a trimester trying to keep this “easy A” from tanking our GPAs. Since then, she’s been my ride-or-die—cheerleader, truth-teller, and travel buddy through 5 lane roundabouts in Ireland, gold haggling in Mykonos, and the wild ride that led me to Rene.
Bridesmaid
Amanda, aka 'Minnie', came into my life when Carly invited me to live off-campus with the both of them. Old Snu quickly turned into our college sitcom, complete with boys knocking for Minnie and me running interference while she Houdini’d out the back. Since then, Minnie has gone from roommate to lifelong best friend. She’s like a cat—selective and blunt, but once you’re in, she’s loyal, hilarious, and endlessly generous.
Bridesman
Stephen is my second-oldest brother, just 18 months ahead of me. We were often in school together, but instead of ignoring me in high school, he’d yell “Hey Jessie!” down the hall, then slam my locker shut just as I reached it, making me late to class every time. Even after moving to different states, we stayed close. During my worst breakups, he always picked up the phone and shared the heartache. So of course he’s standing by me as I say my vows—not on the groom’s side. Sorry, Rene.
Bridesmaid
I met Gabby at a party with Rene’s friends. I barely knew anyone and spoke little Spanish, but she instantly made me feel welcome—kicking things off with, “You’re so white you’re almost pink, like a puppy’s belly!” Since then, she’s become one of my closest friends in El Paso. Whether it’s helping us navigate Juarez or setting up my stepdaughter’s Sweet 16, Gabby always shows up with heart, humor, and zero hesitation.
Bridesmaid
Daisy is my fiancé’s cousin, whom I affectionately call "Miss Daisy." She was one of the first members of Rene’s family I met, and she welcomed me immediately, not just as his girlfriend, but as a friend. New to El Paso and still finding my footing, she made a genuine effort to connect, and her warmth and thoughtfulness stood out right away. She has a magnetic presence—kind, open-hearted, and effortlessly genuine. Ask her about her travels if you get the chance—she’s been to more countries than anyone I know and always has something memorable to share.
Flower Girl
Emma is the daughter of my beautiful bridesmaid, Gabby Arce, and someone who holds a very special place in my heart. I first met her when she was around four years old, and from the moment we met, I was completely charmed by her sweet nature and big heart. She’s been like a niece to me ever since, and watching her grow into such a kind, thoughtful, and spirited young girl has been a true joy. I couldn’t imagine this day without her by my side, and I’m so honored to have her as our flower girl.
Best Man
My son, a young man I’m endlessly proud of and honored to have by my side as I say my ‘I Dos’. Watching him grow into the person he’s becoming has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
Groomsman
(Written by the Bride) Michael, aka “Mo”, is my oldest brother. Despite a five-year age gap, he always made time for me. From monthly Chinese buffet dinners to letting me tag along to his girlfriend’s house, where her little sister and I would paint his nails. One of my favorite childhood memories with Mo: while he was supposed to be babysitting me, he threw a house party that involved setting off illegal fireworks and a huge bonfire—which he decided wasn’t big enough, so he tossed in a lighter and singed off his eyebrows.
Groomsman
Good friend/golf buddy.
Groomsman
Best friend since childhood.
Groomsman
Cousin by blood, brother by bond.
