Rene and Adrienne started out as strangers. Not knowing he would make her laugh and she would always continue to surprise him. They talked about food and traveling. One day Rene asked if she would ever take a trip to San Francisco. She said maybe. Next morning she showed up with a bag and a smile. The rest was history. The adventures never stopped and the food never ended. They fell in love in friendship and never stopped sharing the joy they create every moment.
You know those dates you plan out in advance and hope that all the details fall into place? Yeah...no one would've predicted over 200 burnt corn muffins to be involved or buying the first drink that neither of us enjoyed. But we laughed and laughed about everything and anything. We shared secrets and good memories over San Pedro's famous shrimp tray while watching the bay and listening to the seagulls. (tip: bring your date to a place where finger food is involved so there's no room for judgement). We wrapped up our day with a sunset in Friendship Park overlooking the ocean. Even though the day did not go accordingly to our plan, it felt like it was all part of God's plan.
For about a few months, Rene had asked me to help plan his big birthday party since it was the first time both parents were meeting. It was very nerve wracking (more out of excitement). So while both our parents were introducing themselves, he decided to pop the question in front of all our loved ones present without me knowing. I was completely surprised and had no idea even when he had me choose the ring. I thought it was going to be a surprise anniversary gift for his mom from his dad. Nope, it turns out I chose the ring I fell in love with as soon as I saw it.
