One of the biggest questions for us when we started planning our wedding was--where?? With Ren's family in Brazil, and Suzanne's family in Texas, and us living in California, we wanted to choose a place that was easy to travel to, not insanely expensive for travel, but also special for us. We settled on Chicago because Ren considers it his American hometown--he lived there for 8 years--and a lot of our good friends are there. Chicago's O'Hare airport makes it easy for both international and US travelers to get to the city, and it has an amazing public transportation system to make traveling easy once you've arrived. There are also tons of AirBnbs and hotels for every budget. We understand that most people will have to travel from another state or country to see us, and we tried to be considerate and make getting there as easy as possible. We are excited to celebrate in this beautiful city with our family and friends, and we cannot wait to see you there!
We would appreciate if you can RSVP by October 4, 2024.
While we haven't arranged transportation, one of the reasons why we chose Chicago is for its great public transportation system. Additionally, it is very easy to take an Uber or Lyft to the venue if you'd prefer. The venue is located in Lakeview on Belmont between Sheffield and Racine. It is two blocks east of the Red, Brown and Purple lines, and it is also on multiple 27/7 bus routes.
Another reason why we chose Chicago is its abundance of accommodations for every budget. We recommend checking out AirBnb or just searching for hotels in the Lakeview area. Chicago has great public transportation, so anywhere you stay is accessible to the venue.
There is ample street parking in the area, but we'd recommend taking public transportation or an Uber or Lyft. Walking is also an option if your accommodations are close enough!
We will be serving a variety of Brazilian foods buffet-style. If you have an allergy, please let us know so that we can notify the caterer.
We are not registered anywhere. We understand that we are asking a lot of people to travel to Chicago to attend our wedding; your presence is your gift to us! However, if you would like to make a donation to our honeymoon fund or cat vet bills, we will accept it.
Yes, our nieces and nephews will be there; your little ones are welcome to attend as well.
