Gabe and I had gone to the same church for our whole lives but never really met. We both decided to go to a church retreat that is provided for students on highschool. I went with my friends, and him with his. While there you get to grow closer with God and develop friendships and memories for a lifetime. I can certainly say that both Gabe and I developed memories for a lifetime. We were playing a game of nine-square, and that’s where we met. We started talking about soccer and he said it was my smile that initially drew him to me. After the trip he got my number and we started texting. I figured out very early on that he was much different than any other guys I’d met before. We went on our first date on December 18, and the rest is history.
The day started off with Gabe and I and the entire family watching our Chelsea Blue’s. They put on quite the poor performance. After the game Gabe told me he was going into work, so he gave me a kiss goodbye and headed out the door. My sister Julz had planned a day for me and her to go take pictures at a place called “Twin Lakes”. So I decided to get all dolled up to go and take some cute pictures. We got the fuel of champions (Chipotle) before we arrived at the picture spot. Whenever we got to “Twin Lakes” Julz and I took a bunch of pics and walked around this BEAUTIFUL park. After we were done she said that she wanted to go one other place to take pictures. After 30 more minutes of driving we pulled into a place that had a big sign reading the words “Laurelville”. This is the place that Gabe and I met, so at this point I was pretty sure he was going to be waiting for me somewhere. We pulled into a parking spot and Julz asked me if I could remember how to get to sunset hill. I of course did and so we started the hike up to sunset hill. Whenever we got to nearing the top of the hill I took my brace off for picture purposes lol. As soon as I got to the top of the hill I could see him. There he was standing off in the distance at the edge of the hill. I immediately started crying, and as quickly as my ACL recovering leg could allow me to go, I was making my way over. He proposed to me on that beautiful hill where it all started and Julz took the most beautiful pictures. Now we prepare for a wedding!!
