Daniel and Renae met on the dating app Hinge and had texted back and forth for probably over a month before finally meeting in person. Renae had three pieces of criteria on her profile. 1. Must not get seasick 2. Must not have a temper 3. Must own a passport. When Daniel confessed he did not possess a passport, Renae decided that she could let this slide. He was afterall in the midst of building his own camper, so he definitely crossed off not only her talented criteria, but her adventurous box as well. When they had finally decided to meet, it was at the height of the pandemic and the world was beginning to close down. Parks were strewn with caution tape saying "keep out", beaches had prominent signs saying “closed”, and there was not one restaurant or coffee shop open for business. So where in the world were they going to meet? Renae had just gotten her rescue puppy, Comet, so Daniel suggested they take their dogs for a walk together. He suggested meeting at OVC Mustangs so he could first give her a tour of the shop. Upon meeting, Daniel and Renae immediately hit it off. They talked and talked and talked, sitting on the cold, concrete floor of the shop’s kitchen. By the time they got around to looking at the time already 8 hours had passed. They've pretty much been inseparable ever since, exploring by way of his beloved built out Toyota truck and the sailboat she grew up on. They look forward to many more adventures to come as they begin life as husband and wife.
