We love Carytown's unique and bustling energy. Lined with local shops, bakeries, and restaurants, Carytown is the perfect place for a stroll. Some of our favorite spots are Sugar & Twine, The Byrd Theatre, Tokyo Market, Mongrel, Tulsi, Sen Organic, and Bev's Homemade Ice Cream & Cafe.
The Jefferson Hotel
Built in 1895, The Jefferson Hotel is a historic symbol of luxury known for its grand architecture and opulent decor. Its guestlist through the years includes several U.S. presidents and celebrities (Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley to name a few). Stop in to relish in its beauty, and enjoy a spot of tea or bite to eat while you're at it.
The Poe Museum
Edgar Allen Poe spent much of his childhood and early adulthood in Richmond, Virginia. Visit the oldest residential building in Richmond and learn more about his ties to this beautiful, historic city.

With free admission, the VMFA is always fun to meander through and offers a vast collection of pieces and a delicious cafe and restaurant as well. We definitely recommend you swing by, at least to view the Kehinde Wiley sculpture out front.
