We first met at a volleyball and basketball game at Sandy Creek Christian Academy in Seymour, IN. We didn't cross paths again until the Fall of 2020 at a bonfire. Over the next couple of months we spoke at various events, and in March of 2021 Ethan messaged me on Facebook and asked me to go for coffee. Our first date was March 27, 2021, at Lucabe's in Columbus, IN.

The day began with Ethan bringing me a dozen, red roses for my birthday. Our plans were to go for a birthday dinner date after church that Sunday. When church was over, the proposal adventure began. Ethan mentioned he wanted to go somewhere else to eat other than what we had planned. He took the long way there and drove slow on the interstate to make time for my parents and brother to set up. We arrived in Columbus and Ethan used the excuse to stop at a gas station to get gum in order to call my mom to tell them we were close. After the gas station, we headed downtown. We pulled up to the beautiful, Irwin Gardens. Ethan told me this is where we were eating, but he wanted to check out the gardens first. We then entered through the gate that led to the gardens. Once there, Ethan begin showing me around the garden until we got to the spot where he proposed. Ethan had our song playing, and I turned around to him getting on one knee. He asked, and I said YES!
