FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The event is mountain formal. However, you will be taking a half hour snowcat ride up to the hut which is at 7,000 ft of elevation on Mt Hood, so please wear a warm winter coat and do not wear heels. The flooring in the hut is uneven mountain stone. There is a cozy wood-fired stove in the hut to keep us warm while we are indoors, you just need to be prepared for the adventure up and back! It could be dumping snow up on the mountain so please dress accordingly, we don't want anyone freezing! Please refrain from wearing white, ivory, or anything similar. Y'all know what I am talking about.

Question

How do I get to the Silcox Hut?

Answer

A week prior to the wedding you will be assigned a scheduled snowcat ride up to the Silcox Hut which will embark from Timberline Lodge. We will post the schedule on the website at that time. ***Please check back the week of the wedding to see what time your snowcat leaves Timberline Lodge. *** Unfortunately, if you miss your scheduled snowcat, we may not be able to accommodate a later ride since only a certain number of snowcat shuttles are available!

Question

Can I Bring Gifts to the Hut?

Answer

The best gift we can ask for is your presence for our special day! If you feel the need to also give a gift, please visit our registry on this website or have it shipped directly to our home. The snowcat ride up and the hut itself have limited space, so we ask you bring only what you need!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your little ones but our wedding will be an adult-only celebration, aside from some younger siblings.

Question

Is there a shuttle or taxi I can schedule back to my Airbnb or hotel?

Answer

Please contact Hoodland Shuttle to schedule in advance, unfortunately, they do not offer on demand booking this time of year. Taxi's/ubers are limited up on the mountain, if any at all. Contact Ryan to schedule your ride in advance: ryan@hoodlandshuttle.com Travel safely please, we love you!
