This historical theatre, which originally opened in 1940, has been newly renovated and reopened its doors in 2022. We love the charming "Old Hollywood" vibe so much that we decided to get married here! Both of us have a background in film studies, so when this opportunity came up, we knew it was the perfect place to say, "I DO". This establishment hosts a ton of different events and has something for everyone; new and old movies, holiday film events, live performances, theatre workshops, corporate events, and now...WEDDINGS!
We spent out first Halloween together here. Shannon dressed up as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Adam was her cat, Salem. We rode lots of coasters, took silly photos in the fun house mirrors of LaffTrak, and even danced to spooky music down the Midway. Now, we are season passholders for 3 years counting!
If you're looking for some retro fun, head over to this place in Downtown York to relive your childhood. They have everything; air hockey, pinball, classic (and new) arcade games, even your favorite consoles from yesteryear on old tube TVs! You can play unlimited games by the hour and then grab a bite at any of the nearby restaurants. It's totally tubular!
Our local bowling alley is a great spot to spend a cold or rainy day while getting some exercise. They have plenty of lanes, as well as laser tag and an arcade (with prizes)! Don't SPARE any expense here. Have some cheese fries and a soda at the snack stand. We definitely would.
The best place for some seasonal fun. They always have great baked goods, produce, and fun farm activities. We love the corn maze and pumpkin patch during the fall season.
If you're in the mood for some handmade ice cream, head on over to this place. You can shop in the store, grab a cone, and pet baby cows out back! What's better than that? (Just make sure to wash your hands after. Those baby cows love to give kisses.)
Shannon discovered this place on Instagram. The dining room is a reworked garage with a decades theme that is so adorable. They also happen to have THE BEST smash burgers and a variety of sides (garage fries and mini pierogis to name just a few). The real star of the show though is the Chopped Cheese. We're dreaming about it right now. Vegetarian options are available as well.
The best place for brunch in Downtown York! Roost has so many options, it is literally so hard to choose. We love taking friends here for Sunday Brunch. Try the maple-infused waffles that are crispy yet melt in your mouth or one of their filled-to-the-brim breakfast skillets. Heck, try both! They can even make select dishes vegan friendly. How cool is that? We recommend the Dry Aged Brunch Burger. It's the perfect mash-up of breakfast and lunch.
Located in the adorable town of Lititz, this is our favorite place for Afternoon Tea. We spent our third anniversary here and Adam discovered his tea pinky ("When in doubt, pinky out"). After, you can stroll the main street and peruse local shops, including the Wilbur Chocolate Store. Be sure to plan ahead. Reservations are limited and required.
Just a short drive away from York, this Wrightsville cafe has become a quick favorite. They’re known for their cinnamon rolls, but make room for their scrumptious scones. Flavors change daily and are updated on their social media. The pastries sell out fast, so get there early (and save some for us)!
Our favorite local cider is made at this awesome restaurant and event space. They have really delicious brick oven pizza, which pairs extremely well with their extensive cider selection. Shannon's favorite flavor is pineapple mango, while Adam prefers blackberry. Flavors change seasonally, so there is always something new to try. You can also buy some to take home as a souvenir. They have a retail shop located right inside the main entrance.
We love this place for a special occasion meal. It looks like an old English pub, but isn't your typical rowdy sports bar. They have an upscale menu with chill vibes. It's perfect for a celebration or just a relaxing dinner out. Expect huge portions!
Our #1 bar spot in Downtown York! This place has great food and a wide selection of spirits. This is where we discovered Wyndridge Cider and never looked back. We highly recommend the Cluck Norris Sandwich. It will kick your...
This little gem of a shop is a favorite of ours. There is always something to explore. They have a range of vintage decor, antiques, and fun retro items from our childhoods. We almost always come out of there with a purchase. Plus, the staff is super cool! 10/10
We love shopping for old records and cassettes and this place is a great place to get some. You have to do a little digging, but it is totally worth it. Disclaimer: If you find any Debbie Gibson or Kylie Minogue, you have to promise to pick them up for us.
We discovered this place while antiquing in Columbia. It’s a great place to go after spending long hours looking for vintage finds. They have a vast beer selection and tasty bar food. We recommend the pretzel dog and their homemade chips.
