A Relifords’ Romance

On a sunny Saturday high noon, after months of planning Pat (Nikko) without using any words he asked me to be his wife. He took me with along with our son & other family members to “Turkey D.A.M.” uptown Dallas,TX for what I assumed would just be one of our typical family outtings. We ordered food an sat listening to music while we ate & mingled, the atmosphere was hype & loud, but at the same time so personal. We had the largest table in the middle of the resturant my entire family was in a good mood the vibe was “happy & positive” overflowing with good energy & some dope music playing in the background! After listening to rap, trap, & crunk music the entire time there, suddenly slow music plays (his favorite artist) R.Kelly-Forever comes on. I thought nothing any differently but I said to myself, “they playing slow jams now”, lol. Nikko sitting in front of me smiling holding his head down, I kept asking him what’s wrong?! He stayed silent and still smiling, and from nowhere stood up, grabbed my hand an got down on one knee!! I was at a loss for words at that point (my Nikko went through all of this to make sure I had a special proposal). We were escorted to the front of the resturant where he got down on one knee again, and this time smiled at me an placed the ring on my finger!! My eyes full of tears, my heart full of love, & happy as can be. Officially engaged to my best friend, father of my son. I was happy (like finally), but I knew now we were doing what was right in God’s eyes, an that alone made me feel so happy, my family was now truly complete! p.s he finally actually asked me in the car lol he said he was so nervous words wouldn’t come out, but nevertheless we’re getting married!!!!
