Our story began at an unexpected time

First comes school, then comes marriage.

We were introduced through my close friend back in college, who also happens to be his relative. At that time, I was heartbroken and not really looking for anything serious. One day, my best friend from high school invited me to go out and go some ride to Claveria since her boyfriend had just arrived from working as a seaman. She wanted me to come along so I could unwind and have fun. Funny enough, she even told me to look for someone with a motorcycle so we could ride together. That’s when my close friend in college introduced me to Jayson through Facebook, just showing me his photo. Honestly, my first reaction was, “Oh… okay.” 😅 I wasn’t interested at all. But for no particular reason, I still added him as a friend on Facebook. Fast forward, after going to the gym in Lapasan, we happened to pass by the place where he was working—Mang Inasal. My best friend suddenly mentioned, “That’s where Jayson works.” So we looked, and there he was, sitting inside. To be honest, I didn’t even recognize him at first because he looked so different in person compared to his photo. Then unexpectedly, he messaged me—and that’s when everything slowly started. To make the story short, my best friend’s plan didn’t even push through because she ended up fighting with her boyfriend. 😅 In the end, it was just the three of us who went on a ride to Claveria with my close friend in college. That was our first meet—just a simple ride, which was originally meant for me to accompany my best friend and help me move on from heartbreak. But somehow, things turned into something more. From a simple “Hi,” it turned into “Good morning, I’ll pick you up at Tikoy so you won’t be late for class.” Every day, he would patiently pick me up from Tikoy in the morning to Bulua Terminal in the afternoon. We never really went on formal dates back then. I would go home after school, and he also had work. But in those simple routines, something real slowly began to grow between us. And without even realizing it, what started from a simple “Hi” slowly turned into something we both didn’t expect but eventually chose. From everyday messages, rides, and simple moments, we found comfort in each other’s presence. What once started as a coincidence became a journey we now cherish the most. And now, we are ready to take the next step hand in hand, with hearts that once met unexpectedly, now choosing forever. 💍✨
