We met while both working at Nordstrom, after being introduced by our friend Frankie. We both equally had a crush on each other and I would find any excuse to pass Donovan's department, just to get his attention and say hello. I would return to my department and joke "Donovan just said hi to me, we're going to get married". After a few weeks of (intentional) hello's in passing, Donovan finally asked to work out together at the gym. It didn't take long before we were staying way past our workout, just to talk and laugh some more.
While being long distance, I flew to Miami to visit Donovan for the fourth of July holiday, and Donovan told me that he wanted to take me to a breakfast restaurant that had a great view of the sunrise. The night prior, we went out with friends at a bar and I insisted that we wouldn't make the sunrise breakfast the next morning. Sure enough, Donovan woke me up at 5am the morning of July 4th, and I was NOT HAVING IT. After several pleas, we went to South Point, Miami Beach where Donovan surprised me with a sunrise breakfast picnic on the beach. In the picnic basket, he had a disposable camera, which he suggested we take pictures with. He asked me to take a picture of him, and when I looked through the camera lens, Donovan was down on one knee. I screamed, shouted "YES," and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Chicago!
