Ryan and Bridgette both lived at Greenbriar Condominiums for eight months without having met. Known pool aficionado, he would walk past her sitting on her porch, where she was almost always listening to a podcast on her headphones (true crime or politics). She never looked up, except to apologize for her dog, GP, barking at him. Finally, one Saturday in August, Bridgette went to the pool to cool off after a morning of tending to her garden. Ryan seized the moment, and after a smooth “Did you get your planting done?” the rest is history…
It was the end of a long week of business travel for Bridgette and the start of an exciting Fourth of July (her favorite holiday) weekend. Ryan was oddly insistent they get to one of their favorite local spots for dinner, Duffy’s, by 5:30. Not understanding the urgency of the situation, she was ready to go at 5:25. When she came downstairs to leave, Ryan and GP were both waiting and only GP was confused when he got down on one knee. After she said “yes!”, Ryan let her in on the secret they were not going to Duffy’s but did have her parents, sister, and grandmas waiting on them. It was all the more perfect they were able to celebrate with their families in Ryan’s hometown of Kelso the next day!
