Mike and Reidyn met their senior year of high school in our film class. Reidyn invited Mike to her graduation party, where one of their mutual friends found out that she had a crush on him. Mike stayed at the graduation party for a while, left, and then came back later for a bonfire. They stayed up really late that night with some other friends, laughing and talking around the fire. The next morning, Reidyn decided to make a bold move and sent, “Good morning sunshine, how did you sleep?” (mostly because we had been up late the night before). Mike read the message and didn’t know what to think. That’s when their mutual friend told him that Reidyn had a crush on him. Soon after, Mike asked Reidyn if she wanted to go up to Oshkosh to buy a parts four-wheeler. After getting the four-wheeler, Mike asked Reidyn if she wanted to go up to the Pike Lake Tower. The tower quickly became one of their favorite spots. They would go there at night to stargaze. A few days later, Mike and Reidyn went back to the tower, and that’s when Mike asked Reidyn to be his girlfriend. Of course, she said yes — and here we are, six years later.

Mike proposed to Reidyn on a trip to Nashville (one of her favorite places). Mike had Reidyn convinced that the proposal was not going to happen on this trip. He told her, “Maybe it will happen next year,” or, “We will see.” It did, in fact, happen the next year — about 20 minutes into the new year. Mike had made plans with the friends who were with us to take pictures for the proposal. He told Reidyn that he wanted to recreate our favorite picture that we had taken in Nashville. We went to the middle of Broadway and took the picture. That is when Mike got down on one knee and popped the question. Reidyn was in complete shock that this was happening and, of course, said yes! The proposal was better than Reidyn could have ever expected. Our friends were there to celebrate with us and help make the moment so special.

Mike and Reidyn are blessed to be living in Mike’s duplex in Woodland, WI. They absolutely love living in Woodland — it’s quiet, and you can hear the birds chirping and the creek flowing. They adopted a cat named Casper (he is the best boy). Mike works for the City of Hartford as a mechanic. He also works hard outside of work buying and selling different things. Reidyn works as a nail technician. She loves what she does and where she works. When Mike and Reidyn are not at work, they enjoy spending their time going to live music with our friends, as well as spending time at Mike’s cabin in Post Lake, WI. Mike and Reidyn have been on so many fun adventures. Reidyn introduced Mike to traveling when she convinced him to go to Florida for the first time. He became hooked after that trip. They have taken road trips to Nashville, TN many times, as well as Gatlinburg, TN; Talladega, AL; Atlanta, GA; and Fort Worth, TX. They even took a road trip where we decided to sleep on a mattress in the back of Reidyn’s car. Reidyn then convinced Mike to travel out of the country to an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. We have also been on many adventures throughout Wisconsin. We have gone up north countless times for snowmobiling, boating, and ATVing.
