Because TWO Weddings are Better Than One

Since you can’t control what life throws at you, but you can control how you deal with it, we decided not to let Covid-19 keep us from starting our lives as husband and wife. While we have postponed our wedding celebration, we still plan to keep our original wedding date and elope September 13th, 2020. We wish you could all be there, but we’ll have a do-over once its a safer time in the world. Two weddings are better than one anyway!

About Her - Reid’s Perspective

Tara’s ability to read people’s subtle cues and interpret their thoughts accordingly is second to none! I often lose track of my facial expressions while drifting in my thoughts, belying my true feelings. Most people wouldn’t even notice, but Tara does. She sees my true feelings on my face before I even need to say a word. Some might find this power of hers jarring or intimidating—I find it both. But I also think it is a testament to her razor-sharp intellect and her kindness. Many would use this discerning nature to gain an advantage, not Tara; she uses it to better promote her subject’s well-being. Please don’t let this clinical interpretation of Tara’s personality fool you; it is more a characteristic of my admiration of her. Tara is not clinical or exacting by any means; rather, she exudes warmth in her words and actions. When I first met Tara, I was drawn to her beauty. What quickly followed was a deep respect for her mind and personality. I immediately knew I had found someone special.

About Him - Tara’s perspective

I remember Reid calling me as I was driving to meet him on the evening of our blind date. He seemed slightly panicked but in the most endearing way. Apparently he had realized that there were TWO Royal Oak Breweries and explained that he would gladly drive to the other one if that’s where I was headed. Luckily there was no need to; I was minutes away from the location where he just grabbed us a table. Leading up to our blind date, we only messaged each other, so this phone call was our first actual conversation. There was a certain genuineness to the way he spoke that I immediately took a liking to; plus, he made me laugh. I still tell Reid that he’s by far the most likeable person I know, but maybe I'm just biased. What I initially liked most about Reid was not his giant stature or his beard (although I’m definitely its biggest fan), it was his voice! Its deep, warm and kind—EXACTLY like he is.
