We matched on an online dating website called Hinge in 2023. We quickly became friends on Snapchat, only to stop communicating until June 2024, when we matched on Hinge for the second time. The second time was different, as we actually planned a date together for July 6, 2024, at Harrods Creek Tavern. Once the night of July 6 came around and we met face to face, exchanging words for the first time in person, it was an instant connection. There was a feeling of excitement, ease, and the ability to freely be ourselves without any subconscious fear of what the other might be thinking. We sat out back on the patio overlooking the Ohio River, getting to know each other while drinking Miller Lites out of a bucket. We quickly bonded over both being in the military and being part of the best branch also known as the Army. We share morals that we strongly believe in, have similar hobbies that we value, and have things that we want to build and grow in the future. After spending a good amount of time talking and learning about each other, we took a drive down River Road to explore the hidden spots that everyone near Louisville needs to see at least once. We shared a few of our music choices, took some pictures, and ended the night with a kiss. Both of us left with a feeling of happiness, butterflies, and a strong desire to see each other again. A few hours together that night felt like a full day of getting to know one another, which blossomed into a love that can’t be put into words.
