"Six degrees of separation" is the theory that any person on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. We both grew up on the west side of Detroit, both attending the former Beaubien Junior High School back in the 80's (different classes), same high school at one point (Mumford) and may have been in some of the same classes (neither of us have any recollection of the other). Certain friends from the past we also share...never met there either.....YEARS later we could even potentially have crossed paths at Lawrence Tech University (no such luck). As fate would have it, it was well into our fourth decade on the planet before first, a chance one time conversation on Facebook, followed by meeting again on an online dating platform would have to occur before the question finally came up..."WHO ARE YOU, EXACTLY?". One would be TEMPTED to say "and the rest was history"....but to say that would be cheating the journey wouldn't it..ups and downs there have been many but truer words have never been written that "A perfect relationship is not perfect; it's really just that both people never gave up". Now, with lessons learned and wisdom earned, we begin that next phase of life; confident in our ability to handle whatever comes, be it up or down, good or bad; always trusting the journey. Together.
