Our Story, Our Marriage

In thoroughly modern fashion, we met online. On Wednesday, July 26, 2017, we had our first date at a wine bar in the West Village of Manhattan. The rest, as they say, is history. On Sunday, July 26, 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic, Ben proposed to Regina at Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, NY. We had hoped that the pandemic would have subsided enough in a year that we could make arrangements for our friends and family to celebrate with us. Alas, it was made clear to us that international travel would be extremely complicated if not impossible, particularly for those coming from Ben’s home country of Australia. Additionally, with uncertainty related to COVID variants, we realized a safe, in-person gathering of our nearest and dearest would be at least a few years away. We are not getting any younger, and while love is patient, we are not. We made the difficult and exciting decision to have a private ceremony at the Glenmere Mansion on Monday, July 26, four years to the day since we first met. We exchanged our vows on a warm, sunny day in Chester, NY. The ceremony was officiated by Regina’s brother, Andrew Houston. Our witness was Andrew’s wife, Clare Houston. The ceremony was intimate, emotional, brief, and exactly what we wanted. Please know that we still hope to celebrate with our loved ones in person when times are less complicated, and we can plan for folks from overseas to join us. In the meantime, we hope you’ll share in our joy. Love, Regina & Ben
