Sebastian and Regina first met at Deer Park High School. After passing each other in the hallways and seeing each other in art classrooms, they noticed a spark. Luckily, they both attended Suffolk County Community College in the following fall where that spark quickly became a flame. This flame continued to grow as they earned their Bachelor's Degree at Farmingdale State College and then their Master's Degree at Stony Brook University together. They faced the trials of college, work, COVID-19, adulthood, and life in general hand-in-hand and side-by-side, growing both individually and as a couple. For over six years, Sebastian and Regina have fallen more in love with each other every second and they continue to do so.
On their 6th anniversary, Sebastian and Regina spent the whole day together. They took a chilly but beautiful ferry ride to Mystic, CT. They explored the Mystic Aquarium, Old Mystik Village, the shops in the heart of Mystic, and even a nearby Target. Since it was such a special occasion, Regina suspected a proposal was on the horizon. However, the adventurous day quickly drew to a close and after she noticed it was already passed 10:00pm, she figured the proposal would another day. She was mistaken! After disembarking from the ferry, they began the 1-hour-and-20-minute journey home. They took a detour on the way home and rode along the Robert Moses Causeway, passed by the beaches and state parks, and then headed back toward home. On the way home, they stopped at the Bayshore Marina. In the marina, there is a dock that overlooks the Great South Bay where they had shared many heart-to-hearts, tender moments, and beautiful memories. It was on this dock, in the freezing rain at almost midnight, where Sebastian asked Regina to be his wife. She kept him guessing for a lengthy .02 seconds before saying yes. It was cold and wet but somehow still the most perfect moment of their lives to date.
