We met online through the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. It all started with two friends looking through "bagels" on Christmas night when we stumbled across the profile of a cute looking guy who was also a resident at that time. Due to Regina's lack of SoCal geography, she thought Santa Monica was not too far from Chino Hills and decided to like the profile. From the very beginning, the randomness of Regina was very apparent. Conversations ranged from topics of soft white bread to the meaning of life. After talking online for what seemed like forever, Jason finally got the hint to ask Regina out on a date. It was during that first date that Jason became smitten with Regina after they started to talk about the possibility of other life forms out in space.

We were at Mazatlan, Mexico climbing up the tallest lighthouse of the Americas. After about 30 minutes of hiking up the lighthouse, we finally reached the Sky bridge, made out of glass and protruding out into the bay. While Jason and Regina were taking pictures, Jason brought out a small black box saying "I know you had wanted a proposal with your family here... but I had gotten you these earrings instead". Flustered by the heat and wanting to get out of the sun, Regina walked away not wanting to deal with a "fake proposal". Realizing this was not going as planned, Jason quickly pulled out the other box which had the most beautiful blue diamond ring and proposed to Regina on the Sky bridge with all her family watching and cheering us on!
