Our first time meeting was through Mike Scaringelli (Connor's now groomsman and Codi's former coworker) when he invited Codi to meet him at Goose Island Brewery in Fishtown (RIP). There we met, and Codi found Connor incredibly annoying hoping to never see him again. A classic start to a love story. A few weeks later, we ran into each other again at Frankford Hall after a concert tailgate and started talking occasionally as friends. By "talking" we really mean Connor using Codi for help editing his resume and advising on jobs he could apply to, as he was hoping to escape the horrors of manual labor that his dainty hands were never made for. Throughout the rest of the year, we'd bump into each other at local Philly bars and talk occasionally. By 2019 we were talking almost daily (Codi finding Connor less annoying and more entertaining at this point) and by February we had a few haphazardly planned dates that one of us kept cancelling before we actually ended up going out.
Codi's Version: I chose Bottle Bar because I thought it was a good non-datey location that would be nice place to let someone down easy. I got a Moscow Mule and waited at the back table for you to arrive in my best "this is not a date" outfit. Personally, I went so you could stop bothering me about going out which had become your main conversation topic at that point, but you started the date by sitting down and pretending you were selling me a pyramid scheme and I couldn't stop laughing, so I knew right away it was a match. We then made another date for four days later which you consider our first real date. Connor's Version: Codi would like you to think she met me at Bottle Bar in Fishtown just so she could say we were better off as friends. However, as soon as I sat down and began my 5-minute pitch to get her to buy into my multi-level marketing company I knew it would work out. Our first formal date followed 4 days later (March 2) at Cuba Libre in Old City. Since I still lived in East Brunswick at the time, our second date was shared at my grandmother's house over a nice Dusal's Pizza pie. <3 I could go into further detail and lay out dates 3-100 but it would probably get boring. Once we started dating, we immediately found a joint love for exploring. Whether it's checking out a new Philly restaurant or flying somewhere new, we love experiencing new places together. Check out our Photo Gallery to see some of our adventures, from Penn State football games to Greece.
Following two airplane security lines with the ring tucked in a pair of socks, 1,000 "double checks" to the hotel room security box, and a nearly fatal Catamaran boat ride... we got engaged on our hotel balcony on Santorini in Greece. The proposal, which was more crying than proposing was followed by an ABBA-sponsored dance party and complimentary bottles of sparkling wine. The rest of the trip was spent perfecting showing off the ring in every picture and getting Codi's attention so she didn't walk off a cliff while staring at the ring.
