The first time they saw each other was May 29, 2019. It was a Wednesday night prayer service that they both played a part in. Scotty was singing on stage for the first time and Regan led a part of the service. Later, Regan found out that Scotty thought she was off limits, married, and too old for him! The next week, their Lead Pastor introduced them to each other. After a few minutes of small talk, Scotty left for the night and Regan drove home, curious about the 6'4 Mercer student! Even though they met in June, it was a little over a month before they reconnected for dinner. After talking for hours, they exchanged phone numbers and planned to go out for dinner the next week with Regan's brother, Hayden. From there, they hung out almost every day! Their first official date, on July 26, 2019, was a complete surprise to Regan. Scotty planned an elaborate date that happened on top of a parking garage with Ingleside Pizza, Ocmulgee Brew Pub Rootbeer, and a perfect picnic overlooking Macon! On August 21, 2019, Scotty asked Regan to OFFICIALLY be his girlfriend and the rest is history.

July 11, 2020 was one of the most stressful days in both Regan and Scotty's lives. Scotty had planned a full day of food, relaxation, and adventure, but Regan was so nervous she could hardly enjoy it! She knew he was proposing soon, but nothing specific. They got breakfast from Regan's favorite coffee shop, manicures and pedicures, drove all over Warner Robins and Macon, took Nora (Regan's dog) out for a drive and went to dinner at a mystery location in Macon. After dinner in downtown Macon, Scotty asked if they could take ice cream to their friend, Ethan Perfect, before going home. After being sad that he had not proposed, Regan reluctantly agreed and they started towards the apartment. While sitting on Ethan's couch, enjoying ice cream, Scotty turned to Ethan and asked him to be his best man. Of course everyone cried! He then got up and left to get something out of his car. A little bit later, he called Ethan asking if he could bring Regan upstairs. As soon as she opened the door of Ethan's apartment, she saw pictures from the past year with directions leading up to the roof. Once on the roof, Regan saw Scotty with rose petals, candles, and her favorite flowers, baby breath, all over the ground. He got to one knee and popped the question! Without Regan knowing, Scotty had planned for his friends to help him photograph and set up the entire proposal. They went home to celebrate and Regan was surprised by Scotty's parents.
