Where to start!? The two of us grew up in the same small town in Indiana. We went to the same church and elementary school and knew who each other were. Our junior high and high school experiences went in different directions along with the rest of our 20s. We both loved and felt the heartbreak of other long-term relationships while discovering more of who we are and what we value as individuals. Now in our mid-30s, each of us found ourselves at a place more grounded as individuals knowing what we wanted...the perfect time for two scheming mothers to strike! Out of character and out on a limb, Jordan's mother felt something might just be special about this potential pairing and after planting the seed in his mind, he reached out to Regan...knowing full well she was most likely also propositioned with the same motherly scheme. A summer lunch date, some long-distance phone calls (Jordan in Grand Rapids, Regan in Marion) and then a months long stint of silence while Jordan traveled for work to China and across the U.S., was the precursor to our relationship that would begin in January of 2025...officially...although Regan will debate this with earnest vigor pushing it further and further back into 2024. Since then we've been living in Grand Rapids where we spend our days and work, while keeping our home in Marion where our families live. We love a weekend breakfast out, bopping around to shops, and eventually finding our way to a book store...any bookstore...Barnes & Noble at Knapp's Corner though if we can swing it. We're addicted to chips and salsa on a week night dinner out to a Mexican spot, any ice cream treat as long as it's a blizzard derivative of some kind consisting of double Reese's cup, and laughing at home, making up stream of conscious songs while Jordan plays the guitar. Most of all, we both feel lucky and blessed...lucky to be in our 30s...more grounded...with each other...ready for the long-life of challenges and joys ahead...and grateful that two scheming mother's got together and hatched such a benevolent plan.
