It all started at Butler University in freshman year economics. One day at the end of class David dropped his phone number, which he wrote on a piece of notebook paper, off on Regan’s desk. While their love story did not start there, their friendship did. They kept in touch and junior year they attended Tri Delta formal together, but just as friends. Little did they know at the time that they were meant to be more than just classmates and friends. Fast forward to the end of senior year when they began to realize this. The week after graduating, they realized they didn’t want to say ‘goodbye’ to each other and gave their long distance relationship a shot. Many trips to and from Columbus to Chicago later, the rest became history.

The families gathered in Watersound, Florida for what Regan thought was just to celebrate David and her birthdays, however, Regan was entirely unaware that David had much more in mind. One evening Regan and David went for a walk out to the beach; something they did often. Along the way they stopped on the boardwalk at a spot overlooking the ocean. While looking out to the ocean, David dropped to one knee and asked Regan to marry him. Surprised and ecstatic she said “YES!” After some photos on the beach they went back to share the exciting news with their families, who were waiting at the house ready to celebrate with them.
